New Year’s Eve

We had a pretty low-key New Year’s Eve this year. David worked most of the evening and Nathan, Will and I lit the fireplace and watched a movie and had lots of fun treats!

The boys also entertained each other with some silliness (the video is a little dark but the sound is good):

I managed to capture a pic of the two of them before Will went to sleep at about 9:45 pm:

Nathan picked up this groovy hat and noisemaker at Hy-Vee earlier in the day and was turning heads as we walked through the store.

The most fun for him though was using my new massage mat that my wonderful husband got me for Christmas. It was designed for me to use since I am always complaining how Will breaks my back because he’s such a hefty kid. I guess David’s tired of me complaining, but anyway, I was excited to actually finally get it out and use it while watching some TV. But then, someone decided they needed to relax a little bit more than I did.

When I went over to him to give him a kiss, I believe his exact words were,

“Scooch, Mommy, I am trying to relax.”

So much for great pampering Christmas gifts.

Nathan stayed up with David and I till midnight to watch the ball drop (although we kept switching it back and forth from the ball in Times Square to the Atlanta Peach). Then we all kissed and had some Cognac (David) and Sparkling Grape Juice (N8 and I). Nathan did not like the carbonation in the juice so I will end up polishing off both bottles, I am sure. Instead he asked to have some regular grape juice.

Then we put like 7 quarters into our Jelly Belly machine and spent the next half hour trying to find every single flavor of Jelly Bean that had come out of the machine on the Jelly Bean guide. Nathan liked the Buttered Popcorn, Watermelon, Kiwi, and the Berry Blue flavors.

Then it was of course waaaay past N8’s bedtime so we put him in bed and David and I stayed up to watch TV. Happy New Year everyone! I am sure it’s going to be a great one!
