Yesterday, Punkin' 1 (Nathan) had a stubborn molar extracted from his mouth. The darn thing hasn't come down in over 2 years and was impeding another molar from coming so, we were left with no choice but to have it pulled.
I must say that he was quite nervous for the procedure but by the end of it all, he was so loopy that he was actually telling me how much he "enjoyed having his procedure and having a tooth pulled!". Yes, my kid is quite remarkable.
Anyway, he was a trooper through it all and loved the fact that his orders were to return home, sit on the couch, relax, eat jello and popsicles and pretty much take it easy all day. So of course he milked it. He sat around playing video games, watching TV, and movies pretty much all day long.
What he was most excited about was what the tooth fairy would leave for him since this tooth was HUGE and since it didn't fall out naturally.
He was uber-happy to discover that she'd left him a $10 bill and left the tooth, which is what he was hoping for. He had also written her a note that read somewhere along the lines of "Dear Tooth Fairy, please leave my tooth. P.S. Please try and leave me a toy. Thank you. Love, Nathan". Don't quote me on the exact wording of the note – the Tooth Fairy took the note when she left the cash so I no longer have access to it.
Anyway, I am happy to report that a day after oral surgery, Punkin' 1 is doing and feeling great. He's just not into the salt water rinses like he should be but other than that, he is a great patient!
