Today when Nathan looked outside and saw all the white everywhere he turned to me and said,
“Mommy it’s Christmas because there’s snow outside….it’s gonna be Christmas!”
Can you tell this kid’s not experienced a Christmas in Texas? Well, actually he did spend his first Christmas there but he’s too young to remember that it was mild with definitely NO snow.
So, today’s our snow day since everything got canceled and we’re just waiting for the white fluffy stuff to come down. We’ve got our snow boots and mittens all ready to go! Good thing when it was like 65 degrees a few days ago I finished getting all of the Christmas lights done outside. Nathan helped too so that was nice. We just need to put our deer out since we didn’t get to yesterday.
For now our snow day fun will include some foamies crafts, hot cocoa with marshmallows, popcorn, and movies, movies, movies! I think i might burn some wood in the fireplace too, just for the added touch.
With the house all decorated and our Christmas trees up and lit, it really does feel like Christmas time around here. I can’t say I don’t miss my Texas sunshine and that I actually LIKE freezing, but having kids makes it more fun. The only bad part is that we’ve been home now for two days and both N8 and I are just itchin’ to get out and go somewhere.
Will is content with his homebody self. 🙂
When the snow clears, you better believe we are hittin’ the town to do something!
