Let me just say that I had NO idea what the heck Silly Bandz even were this time last week. In fact, I only first heard of and saw them when I was in St. Louis last week for Build-a-Bear Workshop Connect. When a few of the other bloggers there explained to me what they were, I was like, "really? all the fuss for that?" And I of course thought they were a girl thing only.
Then, Nathan went to camp this week and lo and behold, he came home yesterday and during dinner tells us that his friend at camp was talking about the fact that you could buy Silly Bandz on Ebay. I nearly spit out my spaghetti. Seriously? My kid has never even uttered the word "Ebay". I don't even think he knows what it is, truthfully.
But the truth is that he has had several dollars burning a hole in his wallet for a while so I politely told hime that after dinner I'd call the Hallmark store practically in our backyard to find out if they carried them. So, post-dinner David took he and Will to blow $6 on Silly Bandz. Nathan is so freakin' excited to be taking these to camp tomorrow to trade. We'll see if he actually does though.
