Nathan went back to school today and was all prepared to walk in all excited. As soon as we turned into the classroom from the hallway and he realized that his teacher, Miss Jan, wasn’t actually there and that Miss Brandy was subbing, he made a quick beeline past her straight for the Lego table. I could tell he was a little disappointed.

Upon picking him up from school, I asked him how his day was. He replied that school was “bored” today because he really missed Miss Jan. I think he just had all of these expectations of going back to normal today and after realizing his teacher was out, he didn’t feel quite right. He did add that he was excited to see and visit with his classmates after being gone for so long.

Hopefully Ms. Jan, who is doing her civic duty by participating in jury duty, will return by Wednesday – for Nathan’s sake!
