Nathan has had a loose tooth — his second — for many weeks now.  Today when I picked him up from school he informed me that it was really wiggly today and that he could wiggle it "forward and backward"! Ew.

So, it didn't surprise me much that it fell out today during dinner.  We were trying my pal Nina's recipe for Pesto Penne (which was SUPERB by the way) and all of a sudden I noticed his mouth was bleeding.  He then started moving his tongue about and yelled, "my tooth fell out!"  This one was a doozie.  I guess that thing just didn't want to come out because it bled for a good three minutes or so.

Anyway as you can tell from the pictures, his permanent tooth has pretty much grown in all the way.  It was growing in before his baby tooth was even very loose so it looks like that tooth will be pushed back a bit.  Oh well.  I was a braces kid, I guess he can be one too.

After dinner he and Will were playing about the house and he yelled down from upstairs, "Mom, when can I go to bed? I wanna see the tooth fairy!"  I then told him he wouldn't be "seeing" the tooth fairy.  Then he said, "I just want the MONEY!".  Yep, my kid.

Let's hope the tooth fairy stops by the ATM on the way here.  I hear she relies mostly on her debit card to get her around these days.

One of Reece’s bottom teeth was coming in behind his baby tooth too, so it was pushed back. Once the baby tooth was out of the way, it straightened itself out.
