I swear that Nathan must be the only kid on planet Earth who doesn’t like Rice Krispy Treats. This morning upon leaving for preschool, I remembered that there was a chance that Rice Krispy treats were going to be the snack of the day. I then asked Nathan if he would be willing to give them a try once again to see if maybe he would like them. He then asked me, “are they going to be gooey?” I replied that indeed they were – that’s pretty much the basis of a Rice Krispy treat. Then, he was like, “well, no then. I just want them to be soft and not gooey.“
Good thing I grabbed a snack sized box of raisins on the way out. After picking Nathan up from preschool this afternoon he told me that he had the raisins for snack and asked me if Rice Krispy treats were junk food. Yes, they are learning about healthy eating this week at school and now all of a sudden MY kid has a junk food conscious! He told me he didn’t want any junk food anymore and was not interested in it at all. Riiiiiight. I guess there’ll be no more push-up ice cream treats, chips, free grocery store cookies, suprise popocorn [popcorn with marshmallows or candy], or any of the other treats he so loves to indulge himself in. Mmmm…..hmmm.
