What a great day this turned out to be. David took me and the boys out for lunch at Outback where we actually got somewhat crappy service, but it was okay because we headed over to the mall and had this afterwards! During lunch Will managed to throw nearly all of his cherry flavored puffs, three forks, several cardboard coasters, a napkin, and several menus on the floor underneath his high chair. Yeah, lunch was fun.
FYI Outback has the smallest serving glasses I have ever seen at a restaurant. A Dixie cup seems like it would hold more, but then again I was really enjoying my iced tea so perhaps a little too much?
Anyway, after lunch we headed over to the mall which was in the same parking lot because in true David style, my wonderful husband was going to just let me pick out a gift for myself so that he wouldn’t have to bother buying anything. It actually turned out GREAT! I finally got to get a bottle of my super fave fragrance that I’d been wanting to get over at Nordstroms. Afterwards we just walked around a bit, went and picked out a cute travel bag for David’s mom’s gift and then headed over for the ice cream. It was a little disappointing that the merry-go-round and kiddie train were out of the mall. Apparently it’s all been removed because they’re bringing in some double decker carousel sometime soon so we’ll have to check it out!
After the mall we headed home and ended up going outside for a while for some water fun. David busted out the Nemo slip-n-slide I had bought last year on after-summer clearance at Target. Nathan had SO. MUCH. FUN!!!
Will, of course having some phobia of water, had NOTHING to do with the water outside. He especially did not want to get in the tub after our little time outside either but too bad….I had to get that sunscreen and grass off. So, after everyone bathed and changed clothes, it was naptime. Then later in the evening we took David’s mom out to dinner over at our favorite hangout, Applebee’s and I must say their Mango Lemonade is fab-U-lous!
After putting the kids to bed David and I then sat down to enjoy our usual Sunday night TV on DVR – the Survivor finale, and Desperate Houswives.
The highlight of my day, however, was getting to open up my sweet Mother’s Day card that Nathan had made for me at school. I got a good kick out of it and I think you will too.
(FYI “test track” was a super cool, fast coaster at Epcot in Disney World)
IT’S SO GREAT TO BE A MOTHER!
