I think that Valentine’s Day is one of Nathan’s favorite holidays. I am sure that Halloween is a close second probably because all of the candy I guess. Anyway, for WEEKS, Nathan has been making “valentines” scattered about our house. He’ll draw on a piece of paper then ask if we can mail his “valentine” to whomever. Yesterday he had about six or seven colored sheets of paper that he’d drawn hearts and such on for various family members. One of them will be getting mailed today, as I did not feel like getting out so many envelopes at one time. I know, I was being lazy. Plus, it’s not like stamps are cheap these days.
For the past at least month or so we’ve also checked out numerous books about Valentine’s Day. I must admit, I feel kind of weird reading about Turtle and Snake’s Valentine’s Day or Froggy’s First Kiss, but Nathan doesn’t skip a beat when it comes to reading about Valentine’s Day at this time of year. He loves it. I think he thinks that Valentine’s Day is any day that has to do with candy and doesn’t really realize that it’s only one day of one month that’s not yet here, no matter how many times we tell him.
I think he’s a romantic at heart.
