Details, Details

William "Will" David was born – FINALLY – on Saturday April 15th at 12:37 a.m. As David put it, he was 37 minutes late! I had went into my doctor's appointment on Friday the 14th at 1:30 and we were rescheduling an induction for the 25th of April and my doctor was going to check to see how dilated i was, etc. and was going to "strip my membranes" when she all of a sudden realized that she'd broke my water bag!! 🙂 So, david and i looked at each other in shock as she said, "well, nevermind about the 25th, i guess we can send ya over [to the hospital] there right now!" Everything felt weird. I didn't picture it happening like that, but that didn't really matter at that point since it was obviously happening! So, david took Nathan (who was with us at the appointment) back home to pick up my mom so she could watch nathan. David of course was a little unsettled about me going into labor on a busy Friday night at Green Tea, but oh well! I walked across the parking lot to the hospital, leaking the whole way, went to the registration desk where they told me they were preparing a L & D room for me. I finally got put into a room at about 3:00. At that point my contractions weren't that severe so by 4:30 my doctor started the Pitocin to get those contractions kicking in. Labor progressed throughout the evening and before i knew it i was pushing at about midnight. Notice in the pics below that n8 is asleep in the delivery room. Yeah, he slept thru the WHOLE thing! There i was pushing Will out and n8 was sound asleep just feet from me! I can't believe how much easier labor was this time around…not that it WAS easy, but pushing for 30-40 minutes certainly beats pushing for 4 solid hours making little progress! Once Will was out we were all just so amazed how he looked identical to n8 when he was born! Will came in at 7 pounds, 6.6 ounces and was 19 1/2 inches long, and of course had a HEAD FULL OF HAIR! Definitely worth all the Level 2 tear stitches, which i'll take over n8's Level 4 anyday! I had been so hungry the entire day since i had only eaten 2 cinammon rolls and a glass of milk before what was only supposed to be my doctor appointment earlier that afternoon. So, at 2 in the morning there i am eating a cheesburger that my nurse was nice enough to scrounge up for me after i was all stitched up. Anyway, i am so grateful to all of you who kept us in your thoughts and prayers. I hope to see all of you really soon! 🙂
