Nathan introduced me to his new imaginary friend today on the way home from running an errand after preschool. I heard him say, “……Frankie.” When I asked him who that was he replied matter-of-factly, “Snowy Mountain’s brother!” I was intrigued because I had not been aware that Snowy Mountain had a brother (or a…
We’ll be celebrating Will’s First Birthday at Walt Disney World this year and we are super-stoked!
Nathan checked out some science experiment books a while back at the library and we’ve been delving into them lately with all of this rainy weather. On Monday we finally made some Ooblik, which was really just a science recipe of cornstarch and colored water. It was fun feeling it though and it was hard…
After lunch today David went to get a haircut. When Nathan saw that Jim (the barber) was finishing up with David, Nathan walked over and politely asked him, “Excuse me, can Daddy have a lollipop?” He’s obviously used to getting one after his haircut so it’s only natural for him to assume Daddy gets one,…
Nathan has over the past few months gained an interest in the author of books that he reads. When we sit down to read together he always asks me, “Mommy, read the author.” after reading the title but before starting in on the book. Thanks, Grammy, for starting such a wonderful tradition with him!
I’ve finally got my voice semi-back. It actually does sound like a raspier version of Demi. Oh well…at least it’s moving in the right direction and I no longer have to whisper to my kids. Today’s been great. I started out sleeping in till about 9 and then headed down to make breakfast for N8…
This morning started out real early for me. I took the boys to get pictures done at Kelly’s with REAL bunnies and real-looking chicks! Nathan was so cute and tender with the bunnies. I could tell he really wanted to take one home (especially the little furry brown one). Will was equally cute, however was only interested in tugging at…
I finally snapped some pictures of Nathan at his sports skills class at The Little Gym. So far they’ve covered hockey and golf – two of his faves. Next, is baseball which just about rounds out his top three (although I’d sneak football and soccer in as a close fourths!)
I went to “observe” a few classrooms today at the Montessori we have a spot at for Nathan. When the Assistant Director introuduced me to each classroom as being an “observer”, I got to thinking that it wasn’t an accurate way to describe what I was doing AT ALL. What was really going on is…
