Today I ventured out and took the kids to the Turkey Creek Festival in a nearby local town. I had heard there would be lots of [free] stuff for the kids and it was also toasty and hot outside [just the way I like it], so I decided it’d be a good fit. For the first time ever I didn’t even take the stroller AND I was by myself with the kids. Surprisingly, Nathan and Will did great at holding my hand the entire time when I asked them to and no one dared run off like a crazy person. They were so well behaved that at one point I actually considered that they might have been replaced by aliens in the middle of the night.
Another reason I pondered the whole alien bit was because shortly after our arrival I saw this:
Nathan never gets on inflatables! He is usually terrified of them. I even remember being pregnant with Will and taking Nathan to one of those places that has these bouncy things and he got so scared at the top of a slide similar to the one above and I had to go up to get him then slide down with him. I was sure my water bag was going to break but, nope, it didn’t. So, again, totally shocked that Nathan not only went down this inflatable slide once, but several times! I had to bribe with treats to peel him away from it! But before the treats, we decided to take a ride on the little park train that was making its way around.
Then, we went for this:
After our ice cream we went and played a bit on the playground equipment, did some walking around then just before leaving the kids twisted my arm for this:
What a perfect day! Oh yeah, and they fell asleep on the way home, to boot!
