My Little Helper

Nathan has become such a little helper these past few months. It’s almost as if he KNOWS i will need him to step up and help me more once the baby is here. He particularly loves to help me load laundry into the dryer. I simply open the dryer door and drop pieces of laundry, one-by-one, onto it where he picks it up, shakes it out, and throws it into the dryer (which is at a perfect height for him!) 🙂 Each time i drop a new article of clothing, etc., he says “tate tou” (which is his “cute” way of saying ‘thank you’…he CAN say it correctly, but knows we love him to say it in his baby voice!)….it’s too cute! What i end up saying back to him is, “NO, thank YOU!” Then, i’ll hand him a fabric softener sheet which he throws in and follows by shutting the dryer door.

Him helping me in this department is totally saving my back, by the way.

Then, there’s the vacuuming…..he of course has always loved that!

And now, he is now “mature” enough to understand what he can and can’t unload from the dishwasher, and exclaims, “MOMMY, get the the KNIFE!” because he knows he can’t touch it.

And of course, he LOVES to run and throw things in the trash for me, like the occasional piece of lint, an outdated magazine, his dirty diaper, a wrapper on the floor from one of David’s many Snicker’s bars, and any other item that i ask him to. He is so cute scurrying his little bare feet across the floor to the kitchen trash can, so proud of himself for being a big boy! He exclaims after each time he throws something away, “Mommy, I DID IT!” Then, i think to myself, “yes, thank goodness you did, because i am too tired to!”
