Yesterday was my first full day with both Nathan and William by myself without my mom being here to help. I definitely missed her, but know that i have to do it on my own now and am grateful for the time she spent here helping me get back on my feet. David was working all day. He left the house at about 10 am and came home at about 10:15 pm, so it truly was a day by myself. Although i was exhausted by the end of the day, i can’t really complain. I got to spend the whole day with my boys and am thankful that i have them to tire me out instead of some other away-from-home job.
Getting through church with just one of me and two of them was the most challenging, but luckily Nathan has learned very well how to behave during mass. He was such a great helper to have. Will only had to be nursed once and then was content the rest of the time, although i did hold him quite a bit during mass. Mostly it was annoying having to carry that heavy infant seat to and from the car and hold n8’s hand in the parking lot at the same time. That will take some practice i am sure.
The rest of the day we spent pretty much at home except for around 6:00 pm when we all went for a walk outside. It was mostly exhausting having to coordinate changing Will’s diapers and playing with n8 and all of his toys, making meals, doing housework, etc. I was so happy to see David by the end of the day and cheerfully handed Will off to him to hold for a while.
Anyway, i am sure after we get into our own routine of things it will get easier.
