This morning while still in bed I overheard David ask Nathan what he wanted for breakfast. N8 replied with his usual “egg and cheese” and then David suggested “how ’bout some bacon?” Nathan then asked what bacon was (even though he’s seen it a hundred times I am sure) and David described it as “salty and good; crunchy like chips”. Well, of course N8 was game but I was thinking yeah, right! No way this kid’s going to eat bacon.

Boy was I wrong. I managed to tear up a strip of bacon after it was cooked and served it with his egg and cheese. I informed N8 that his “bacon chips” were right next to the egg and that he should try some. He did. He liked. I smiled.

For those of you who don’t know why the heck I’d be blogging about this, the fact that my kid even entertained the IDEA of bacon chips is HUGE!!

Now that we got bacon down you think he’ll go for a bacon wrapped filet mignon? Nah, probably not, but certainly worth a try. I know who’d finish it if he couldn’t.
