After picking Nathan up from preschool today we headed over to where else?? Chick-fil-a of course. Actually, we hadn’t been there in over two weeks for lunch at least. It was nice to see all of our employee friends there. Everyone enjoyed some chicken (even Will) then N8 decided to play in the play area for a while and Will and I hung out in the dining room. There was a little girl sitting at the table next to us that he started making googly-eyes at but then she slid off her chair and went kaboomers onto the floor. Scared the heck out of me! Will even started to shed some sympathy tears after she started crying from the knot on her head. I consoled Will (and the little girl) and we hung out for a few more minutes.
By this time Nathan had made it out of the play area and back over to our booth – sans shoes. Kim, the marketing lady that works there, came over to me and asked if N8 would like to make his own ice cream cone. Duh! Uh, yeah, lady….this is my kid we’re talking about here. The love of ice cream is innate in our family (especially Blue Bell).
He grabbed onto her hand and walked over to the ice cream machine with her so fast, he didn’t even realize he was without shoes. He returned a few moments later with a monstrous ice dream cone and immediately began licking it. After a few minutes it was indeed time to go.
We made our way over to Wild Oats for their buy one get one free sale of great stuff. I made it home with some tasty chili & lime chips and some pico de gallo chips. Talk about some yummy midnight snackin’!
I figured I was pushing my luck but since we were already over in that area I decided to make a B3 (a.k.a. Bed, Bath & Beyond) stop for some stuff on my list. JEEZ – I LOVE THAT STORE AND COULD SPEND HOOOOOOOOURS THERE – but didn’t, of course. The kids were pretty well behaved considering we’d been out for a while by that time. I managed to use a few 20% off coupons for some stuff as well as contribute to my Upromise account since I used my registered Visa check card. We then headed home and surprisingly, no one fell asleep in the car.
The boys are playing nicely right now as I catch up on some stuff around here. At least I know now that they can hang with my busy-errand-running self.
