The kiddos did great last night with Katie, our new babysitter (at least through summer before she heads back to college). Anyway, she arrived at about 6:30 and I went over a few ground rules, etc. with her. Then Nathan eagerly asked her if she’d play the Wii with him and she of course said, “definitely!”. So after showing her how to operate the TV, and Nathan showing her how the Wii works, I decided I’d better scoot out while everyone (mainly, Will) was all good.
I shuffled off to bible study feeling just a bit weird. I don’t know why, I guess it was just this feeling of not having my kids around. I mean, I am always with either one or both of them.
Well, my feelings were quickly eased when I walked in at about 9 pm and Katie was holding Will over her shoulder and he was embracing her as well. Nathan was in great spirits and hardly noticed I even walked in the door! Of course, as soon as Will saw me he of course reached out and started crying. I asked Katie how they had been and she told me that they were both great. The only time Will fussed was when he saw me walk back in! Stinker.
So, I feel good about having a sitter now. It’s going to be so nice to be able to call upon her over the next couple of months when I need someone to help me out. And, it’s good to know my kids are so flexible and easy-going about the whole thing.
