Today was our playdate with Nathan’s pal, Cole and it was perrrfect for swimming! Nathan and Cole met during their class at the the Little Gym this past semester and are just a few days apart in age and they play remarkably well together. So after Spanish class this morning, we met for lunch at Chick-fil-a with Cole and his mommy. The boys played there some after eating then we headed over to David’s mom’s neighborhood pool which has the SAWEET waterslide.

As soon as we arrived, I slathered N8 up with sunscreen and he was all but running toward the slide. Cole, on the other hand, was just a tad skeptical. But by the end of our very long day at the pool, he was going up and down the slide like an old timer. I wish I would have snapped pics of Cole going down all by himself. We were all so proud. After I went down with him several times and gently coaxed him into doing it by himself, he was able to master it. Nathan and he continued up and down until we left, taking small breaks every now and again to play with the water squirters, eat a snack, and lay out.

Will also had a great time, though he kept wanting to simply climb the stairs TO the slide but settled in the end for wading in the pool. I tried putting him completely in but he wanted nothing to do with it.

By 4:30 when we arrived back home, both boys were asleep in their carseats and were completely worn out. I was thankful they napped because I was beat too. I am hopeful that we’ll get to go back to the pool soon….I love hanging out there.
