Garage sale surprise.

This afternoon after picking up Nathan from preschool we decided to check out a few garage sales in the neighborhood next to the school. Imagine Nathan’s shock when he walked right up to the garage of one house only to find it was Ms. Jan’s (his preschool teacher) house!

He kept going on and on about the tennis racquets she had there, wanting to know how much each one was. Then she had this cool little table hockey game that she and Nathan played on for about fifteen minutes. He even asked her at one point how much the game was, but I was not about to take that thing home with me. Yes, it did look very fun, but I think I’ll croak if I try to cram even one more toy in this house.

Before leaving we ended up with a great little kid-sized snow shovel that was marked a buck. I reached for my bag to pay for it and Ms. Jan wouldn’t hear of it! She told Nathan it would make her so happy to know that he was out shoveling snow this winter with their old shovel, so he should just take it. We thanked her and headed out.

Nathan was pretty pleased he managed to hold onto all of his garage sale money (like three bucks and change) AND still walked away with something to show.
