Today over lunch Nathan was inquiring about when it was going to be summertime finally and he asked me,

“Mommy, when is Kansas going to turn into Texas?”

He was a little disturbed when I told him that, try as she might, Kansas will NEVER be Texas. Ever. He then made some reference to lots of tumbleweeds and how he liked that part about Texas. Come to think of it, I don’t think we’ve ever seen a tumbleweed in Texas, so he’s purely stereotyping the state of Texas.

Then he informed me that it would be kind of weird if Kansas turned into Texas because then there’d be “double Texases”, but then people could choose to either visit Grammy’s Texas or Our Texas. Hmmm….now there’s a no-brainer.
