WOW! What a great birthday I’ve had! After church, mom took the kids and I out to lunch (David was working) at Elephant Bar. They brought me a strawberry sundae as my birthday treat after I had finished my lunch.
But, the real treat was actually at church. Mom took Will out to the gathering space since he was obviously not going to sit still for long. That left Nathan and I sitting alone. Well, when they announced it was time for the children’s liturgy, I asked Nathan if he wanted to go and he was so excited and responded with a resounding YES! The kids are supposed to be in Kindergarten in order to go unless they go accompanied by an older sibling. But, I know my kid and think he’s just fine in a group setting like that and not shy or anything, so I offered.
The best part? I got to enjoy most of the mass by myself, in complete peace and devotion to the service! It was the best experience I’ve had at church in a long time.
After church and lunch, we came home and I received this from mom and the kids:
A bouquet of the most beautiful tulips and a great Hot Wheels balloon, picked out by – you guessed it – Nathan.
I went shopping for most part of the afternoon since I needed to get some items for the take-home-treats for Nathan’s preschool Valentine’s party tomorrow. Then, it was time to take mom to the airport so she could get back home in time for work tomorrow. Afterwards, the kids and I just came home and hung out. David arrived after work with a fabulous ice cream cake for us to celebrate with!
