I love that smell.

That's the smell of my kids, I mean.  No, not that been-playing-outside-for-only-half-an-hour-sweaty smell, but rather the smell of baby-like skin as it brushes up against the pillows in my bed.  I am constantly smelling my kids, even when I just seem to go in for the kiss on their cheeks or what not, I can't help but to sneak in a whiff of that cute-little-boy smell.

Tonight when I returned from bible study, I went up to my room only to find W was the only one asleep already!  Sure, D & N were in bed, but weren't actually asleep yet.  When N saw me I ran over and greeted him and began to kiss him on his cheeks.  Does anyone else just love the way their kids smell? I love their just-woke-up-in-the-morning smell of their hair and faces, yet I know that one day (that will be here all too soon), those sweet smelling faces will be covered with oil and most likely zits and blackheads of all sorts.

But for now, I'll enjoy that sweet smell of my little boys.

They’re not MY kids, but I love that smell of them, too! I even don’t mind the sweaty-just-played-outside smell either…as long as they don’t touch me with their sweaty heads! 🙂

I still check on Reece every night before I head to bed, and every night I take a small whiff of my sweet boy too. I agree it’s the best thing ever.
