Create a 501 (c)(3)

Just because you are ready to serve others does not mean you inherently know how. If you have an idea of how to effect a positive change and want to start an entity to do something, you have resources. Go to the experts to learn how to start a 501(c)(3)

Producing something great does not mean you have to do it in a vacuum. Find established businesses with experience in 501 (c)(3) endeavors to lean on. Solicit like-minded volunteers from work, your family, social circles, and online. Encourage them to do the same. Before you know it, you will have been part of the creation of something great that can last a lifetime.

Teach Kids How To Help

In today’s busy world, where kids are running from one activity to the next, have an abundance of streaming options, and an ever-present smartphone, they miss out on the benefits of volunteerism. Think about this: If kids never have exposure to others who are not as advantaged as they are or the experience of making a difference in another life, when they grow up, they may not understand the need or responsibility to others.

Show up with your children and take part in age-appropriate volunteer activities. This can be anything from a park cleanup to teaching local senior citizens how to use social media. These are both real needs and will be immensely appreciated by those who need assistance. Teach the youth of today that their efforts do not have to be grand and all-consuming, but instead can be low-level and impactful even if only one person is the beneficiary.

Let Curiosity Lead You

Know that just because things are currently operating the way they are does not mean they have to continue in that pattern. That being said, sometimes the old ways work well and should stay in place. At other times, a paradigm shift is necessary for change.

If you notice a problem that is perpetuated and never gets better generation after generation, allow yourself to sit in a space where you can use your curious and analytical mind to implement a change. Work toward honoring your wonderment and incorporate that with action to move the needle forward for the benefit of others.

Making a difference matters. It impacts more than just the recipients of your efforts. When you do good things, you feel good things. Others will take notice of your altruistic ways and become inspired to work alongside you or make their own inroads into creating a better world and environment for everyone. Helping others is a win for us all.
