Today's outing was a venture out to Wonderscope which I've wanted to visit with the kids for some time now. It was totally worth the wait. The kids slept in till about 9 a.m. so we didn't get out there till 12:30 or so. That was totally a good thing though. By that time it was not as crazy and there was only one field trip group and a few other kids with their parents. We didn't have to wait in line to do any of the wonderful hands-on activities. As we went room to room N & W's eyes lit up at each of the rooms' different exhibits.
Raceways was a huge hit with the boys. I've neve seen so many activities that used so many golf balls!
Crater City was one of N's favorite exhibits! He's got such a special affinity for space, the planets, and all thing astronaut!
It's fun to navigate your very own spacecraft!
What's there not to love about an underwater Lego adventure?
N in line getting ready to check out with his cart full of groceries in the City of Wonder.
W depositing money into his City of Wonder bank account. Dang, too bad that's not real!
I was most surprised and thrilled with the Hands Can exhibit. I realized that N might actually have a calling in TV. Whereas I prefer to be in front of the camera, his passion is behind the camera. We talked for the rest of the day about photojournalism and how he could actually be a camera man one day. You should have seen the way his eyes lit up at the possibilities! In the exhibit, W & I sat in front of the camera while N filmed us giving a news report. N played the part to a tee – complete with a 5-4-3-2-1 countdown followed by "ACTION"! So cool!
Then they enjoyed helping a patient while learning about being healthy in the Healthy Kids exhibit.
After about halfway through all of the exhibits, we decided to head over to McD's for a late lunch. We scarfed down our food so we could head back to Wonderscope and practically close the place down. We stayed till about 4 p.m.! All in all, a very cool day!
