If any of these sound good to you then you are in for a treat because Halloween is always a popular time to eat pumpkin. If you don't fancy the taste of pumpkin, just make sure you carve it and then you use the inside to bake as much as you can for everybody else. You can still get that frisson of joy just because everybody else is enjoying your baked goods!

Make your own Halloween treats. Toffee apples don't have to be packed with sugar. You can make apple nut butter and frozen banana Boo pops, which are bananas dipped in chocolate with two little chocolate chips for eyes! If you are putting on a spread of food for your kids, then you can make sure that you have vegetable stick crudites’ that are cut in the shape of body parts, and you can even make healthy burgers called blood patties. No matter what you do, you can make your own Halloween treats instead of buying the store bought ones and save yourself the sugar and the fat content.

Make Halloween fun without food. Sure, you can hand out treats to trick or treaters, but you can get creative at home and have just as much fun. Instead of having an apple bobbing session or making your own toffee apples, make a dinner where all the elements are Halloween themed or have a craft party with a spooky theme across it.

Stay hydrated. If you are not one to eat too much candy on Halloween, then good on you but bring a water bottle with you while you take the kids around the houses. Make water your drink of choice and make sure you have some with every meal and every snack. If you're going out trick-or-treating with children, you will be getting in some steps, as well so leave the car at home and walk with your feet and not with wheels.

Limit the leftovers. This is something you can do for the children as well As for you, but when it comes to Halloween candy, put a small part of it aside each day and then limit the rest. You could also donate any leftover candy to the dentist office, the church or even in your local community.
