I love lip balm. I truly do. It's part of my everyday outfit. I keep one tube in my car, one in my purse and one in my bathroom for when I am getting ready each morning. Sometimes though, I do want to wear just that right shade of color on my lips. Although I tend to shy away from lipsticks because I just don't feel like I would wear them enough, I have found a great way to utilize my cheek and eye powders/minerals as lip colors.
I think I actually learned this watching a makeover tv show or something a while back, but it is still one of the best makeup tips I've ever heard! You simply take a tube/stick of lip balm and dip it into your container which has that eye or cheek color you want. Then, just tap it to let the excess fall back into the container. Then, take your stick/tube of (now colored) lip balm, and apply it to your lips! You now have a great way to wear color on your lips without the commitment of buying an entire lipstick or lip shade!
I first discovered this handy tip a few years ago when I was in search of a good nude shade of lip color to wear. I was having a tough time finding something that suited my skin tone, and then I had the idea that if I could somehow use my eye color as lipstick, all my problems would be solved!
I was excited when it worked like a charm and have used this little trick several times since discovering it!
