I’m thrilled to share more with you about MoneyMyth.org thanks to brightpeak and #WeAllGrow Latina Network. All opinions are my own.
Raising children to understand finances and how to be responsible with their money, is one of my most important parental roles. There is so much information out there that it can seem overwhelming when you're trying to navigate the waters of financial planning. Recently, I discovered MoneyMyth.us, a site by a Christian-based organization whose mission is to help others grow stronger in their finances so that they can live with confidence and more generosity.
Through their MYTHS campaign, they're able to help individuals and families create their very own financial profile. This is a crucial and necessary step in the financial planning process. I will always remember that one of my dad's most used phrases was "when you fail to plan, you plan to fail.". When I was younger, I would just roll my eyes and didn't really fully understand what he meant. Now, as a mother of 5, I fully understand the importance of planning in every aspect of life, especially where finances are concerned.
With MoneyMyth.us, brightpeak makes it easy to setup a profile by using their simple interface that includes three multiple-choice questions about your personal financial goals.
I was pleasantly surprised at how easy it was to setup my own profile and receive instant tips and resources for a personalized financial plan.
After answering the simple questions, my top 3 personal financial goals were:
1) Making sure my family is okay financially if I were to die
2) Saving for Emergencies
3) Making sure I can pay my bills if I get sick or injured
Instantly I was shown my personalized Goals Dashboard, where I could read more in-depth information about how to become more educated on each specific topic, and several resources for each specified goal.
What I loved most about this whole process is that it was easy to understand and not intimidating, as I would have expected something related to financial planning to be. The whole process of answering questions and filling out the information was written in an easy to understand format.
If you're looking for a great resource and a place to begin the financial planning journey, I highly recommend the MoneyMyth.org website for starters. After setting up your initial profile, you'll see how easy it is to get more information on reaching the financial goals that are most important to you and your family.
Do you use a financial planner or do you have a solid financial plan? I'd love to hear your experiences with this and tips and tricks you have about money and finances.
