There’s no doubt about it – I truly love each and every one of my boys. My younger two, Jacob and Andrew (ages 5 and 18 months, respectively) have gotten immensley close this school year since my oldest two have been in school. They have daily heroic adventures together, whether than means superhero dress up time, games, and just all-around heroic mischief! I recently started thinking about how Jacob will be in Kindergarten at this time next year and how my Andy is going to miss hanging out with his big bro and buddy so much. Having Jacob around not only helps Andy but makes him a true hero in mommy’s eyes, too. He’s such a helper! A lifesaver, even, on some days.

Yes, even a small task like helping get his little brother’s shoes on makes Jacob a hero in my eyes! You moms know what I’m talking about. It buys me that 2 extra minutes I might need to load up the car with what we need for errands, or to put the finishing touches on a (somewhat) clean kitchen before heading out the door. The everyday hero in Jacob shines through in nearly everything he does here at home. It makes me teary eyed just thinking at how limited our time is together until he’s ready for “big school” in just 9 short months!

But if you were to ask Andrew and if he were able to tell you himself, he’d undoubtedly say that Jacob is his everyday hero because of moments like this. In all the silliness, all the craziness, there lies a deep and true friendship and love that only brotherhood knows. It’s these loving memories that will be forever etched in my brain as we move forward in life and as my boys get older.

  Disney Planes Fire and Rescue

Are you ready for Disney Planes Fire & Rescue to be released on Blu-ray and Digital HD on Tuesday, November 4, 2014? I know my kids will want to own their own copy and seeing how I never like disappointing my little everyday heroes, I can totally get on board with that idea!

Disney’s Planes Fire and Rescue is such a favorite family-friendly movie no only because of the action and all the laughs you’ll get to experience, but the storyline is so touching. The movie features a crew of elite aircraft that is devoted to protecting the historic Piston Peak National Park from a raging wildfire. When Dusty, the famous air racer from the movie Planes learns that he may never race again, he shifts gears and is launched into the world of aerial firefighting. Dusty joins forces with a team of veteran firefighters and together, they battle a massive fire and Dusty learns what it takes to become a true hero.

This movie conveys such a great message of how hard work and determination, paired with teamwork, can inspire us all to be everyday heroes.
