Today was g-g-g-g-GREAT!  Waking up to the sweetest homemade Mother's Day cards, enjoying some time outside in the (finally) HOT and sunny weather, enjoying a little nap on the couch, some cold iced tea along with a fabulous lunch out, and then dessert!  Oh, the dessert!

Ok, well I ate the desserts (yes, I said "desserts") before I actually thought about photographing them.  But on the bright side, aren't those homemade cards lovely?  We enjoyed spending some time outdoors blowing bubbles, pulling weeds, and just hanging out.

Jacob was insistent on chasing bubbles (and his older brothers) all the way down the driveway.  Yes, it was plenty o'fun keeping him out of the street!

Later, we went out for lunch and then stopped for cupcakes to bring home.  Nathan had baseball practice so while David took him to that I put Jacob down for a nap and William and I just chillaxed on the couch.

Then, the doorbell rang.  Little did I realize this would be the ultimate Mother's Day gift.

It was our insurance adjuster who had arrived to give our roof an inspection.  He was only about 24-48 hours early!  But, that was ok because by the time it was all said and done, we were told that our roof would be totalled out!  New roof for the casa is exciting news!  William expressed his concern when he overheard us talking about it.  He wanted to make sure that none of his things would "blow away" since the old roof would have to come completely off.  Love that kid!

Turns out our insurance will also be covering some repairs that the awful hail storm caused to our deck, outdoor playset, several screens, a storm door, and our bbq grill.  Now the joys of getting all this work begins.

Just glad that today I could focus on what is really important in my life!

Tell William just because you live in Kansas doesn’t mean your house will be blown away…just your roof! Start gluing them down on the floor! 🙂
