This morning straight after breakfast, the kids and I packed up and headed to the gym. I had hoped to make it to the 9:30 a.m. hour-long cycling class, but by the time I got the kids checked in to the children's area, it was 9:34 and I hadn't even made it upstairs to the cycling room. I decided I didn't want to walk in after start time, especially since it would've been my first time for the class. So, after sweatin' it out on the elliptical machine, I cooled down and headed over for the stationary bikes. I happened to run into a friend of mine (I've done that two days in a row, now!) from church so we ended up chatting a few minutes and before I knew it, it was nearly 10:30. Just in time for the group class I was hoping to try – a 30-minute class titled Core Conditioning. How bad could it be, I thought?
As I sit typing this entry my entire abdominal wall is utterly and completely sore. It was such a good workout, but dang if it didn't totally kick my a$$! Yeah, I'll probably only be doing that class about twice a week – MAX! It felt totally rewarding though.
Afterwards, I went down and picked up the kids and we headed over to Costco for gas. It was so nice outside that I asked the kids if they were down for going to the park. Of course they were! So we stopped by our favorite eatery (where I ran into another friend from church), scarfed down lunch, and headed over to I-Lan, one of my personal favorite parks. The kids had a blast playing with the other little boys there and we moms even got some entertainment value. One of the little boys managed to make his way over to the side of the playground set – the side facing the street – when he proceeded to pull down his undies and take a leak. He had good aim. We all busted out laughing as we watched him from the picnic area. What's even more odd is that I ran into yet another person that I actually know, but only online. She's one of my advertisers and is a cute little mom who runs her own business selling trendy and totally hip fitness wear for moms. I'll give her a shameless plug, why not? We finally headed home after everyone else started leaving the park and plus, I really needed to get out of my workout clothes. I was able to come home and put the kids down for naps while I showered and got caught up on the bazillion phone calls and emails I needed to make. D and I had decided we would do a cheap dinner option for tonight. Wanna know how to feed a family of four on around ten bucks? Every week or so we get these coupons in our mail from Godfather's Pizza for a buy-one-get-one-free buffet. Well, Tuesday night is the only night of the week they actually have a dinner buffet (the rest of the week it's during lunch), AND it happens to be Kids Eat Free night as well! We got our fill on salad (well, at least W and I did – he loves salad just as much as I do), pizza, breadsticks, and more!
We also made a family outing back over to Costco to kill some time before dinner and I managed to pick up a couple of great books that I've been wanting to read. One is a great fiction read that a dear friend of mine recommended and raved about so I am anxious to delve into this book. The other is a simply uncomplicated book full of tried and true recipes from scratch. There are a few things that I am really excited about making with the kids, like the chocolate pillows!
W starts Kindermusik tomorrow (thanks, Grammy, for gifting it to him, yet again!) which is always fun and after that we'll probably make a Target run for a few items we need to pick up. Another fab day in the T household.
