Spending time with your children over the holidays can become much more of a challenge over time since activities and children’s ages change frequently, and we aren’t always sure what will be fun for them. Most children, however, will find many activities enjoyable, and those are the types of things you can book in advance as well. It doesn’t have to be a theme park every time, and you don’t have to spend a huge amount of money, but doing some home-based activities together is essential for their growth and for your relationships. Here are some ideas on things you can do at home with the children during breaks and holiday times.

Arts and crafts

Most children enjoy arts and crafts, being able to get the paints out and make a mess, whilst creating some artwork is something that most children enjoy, and parents will allow to see the smiles on their faces. easy valentine's day crafts for kids is something that is seasonal and fun for all children to do. It’s great to get involved yourself as well and either create something special for your home or just help the little ones to be able to create something that they might not have otherwise been able to do themselves. Just getting the glue stick and scissors out, can create laughter and excitement from small children, who are keen to create and gift amazing pieces of artwork for their family members. Taking the children to the cinema is something that we all think to do, but don’t always take the time to act. Grabbing a bag of popcorn and going to watch the latest Disney movie is something that we all remember from our own childhood. So sharing this with their own children is quite special. Especially since Disney and other companies are remaking in our old favorites for us to enjoy as well.

 

Board games

Busted open the monopoly and getting everybody ready for a game of scale that you can enjoy together is going to create great memories for your children. Even if they don’t win, and let’s face it there’s always a tantrum when playing board games, there are plenty of opportunities to have fun, and enjoy the activity. It’s more about taking part then when it comes to board games, and essentially everybody can have a good time. If you are not able to commit as much time as needed for a longboard game, then even a quick card game such as Snap, or solitaire, or even double can boost everybody’s mood momentarily at least. Some particularly good board game sessions can be remembered for years to come, especially those that are done with as many players as possible.
