I've often thought about getting rid of a lot of the stuff we have just sitting there in the third part of our garage in the way of everything.   Last night, I was reminded just why I'm keeping it all there.

After dinner, which was this mouth-watering chicken parmesan dish that D cooked up,

I hauled in the basketball hoop thingy we've had in the garage.  It was a little cobwebbed up but I was able to wipe it down and the kids have been with playing it nonstop since dinnertime yesterday!  Don't ask me why in the world they are using a soccer volleyball and not a basketball!

These cold weather days have me very thankful that we have lots of indoor activities to keep the kids sane.  I've stocked up my craft closet, checked out a few DVDs from the library, and busted out games and toys we've not seen in ages.

I hope this is a short winter.  I'm counting the days till we get to visit Texas!
