I was recently offered complimentary tickets by some folks over at the Sprint Center.  Apparently, they view me as an influential mommy blogger and wanted to extend me an invitation to attend the Ringling Brothers Circus with my family.  I was sure I'd never hear the end of it if my kids ever found out we had the opportunity to go to the circus but didn't, so of course, I obliged.

We arrived about twenty minutes before showtime and got settled into our nosebleed section seats (hey, I said they were free tickets, not good tickets) and waited for the show to start.  The kids were mighty tired by the time we arrived at 7 p.m. and had already had quite a long day, but they were in decent spirits.  The show began a few moments later and I eventually made my way down to the concession area for some seven dollar popcorn!!!  Yes, that's right, $7 for a box of popcorn.  I about choked.

I headed back to our seats with popcorn and pink lemonade in hand.  After seeing how much the kids enjoyed it, I forgot all about how much it cost.  Ok, no, not really, but I did eventually get over it.

The kids ended up having a fabulous time watching tigers, elephants, clowns, and acrobats as they performed for the huge crowd.  We actually ended up leaving a few minutes after intermission because the kids were just so dang tired.  N was saying that he was tired but yet he didn't want to go home because he wanted to "see what happens next".  I assured him that it would just be some of the same things we had already seen and that if we left before everyone else did, we'd avoid the mass exodus (ok, I actually used a little bit different terminology with him) at the end of the show.  He looked over at me and agreed to leave and we did just that.  W had already been halfway asleep on D's shoulder so we knew it was time.

We made our way back to the parking garage and headed back home.  The kids were out completely by the time we made it to the freeway.  Overall, I am glad that we went.  N's favorite part of the show were the male and femal acrobats who made their way up a very high pole then had to slide all the way back down after their stunts were over.  W seemed to enjoy the tigers and kept asking if they would bite him.  My favorites were these beauties:
