Dreamin’ of Disney.

Our travel documents and goodies finally came in the mail this week and our Disney trip is drawing nearer.  This year, we're having an encore stay at the Caribbean Beach Resort, where we stayed last year because we LOVED it so darn much!  It has got to be hands-down the best resort for adults and kids who are traveling together.  This year we're most excited because their new pirate themed pool area is complete and I'm sure the kids are going to love it.

We'll be there celebrating Will's 3rd birthday – again!  Poor kid….gets a Disney vacation for his first three birthdays.  So sad, I know.  Nathan will get to celebrate his un-birthday too, which will be fun.

We're looking forward to visiting some of our favorite attractions and the all new Toy Story Mania, which wasn't yet finished when we went last year.  We've made reservations to celebrate Will's birthday with an early dinner at Crystal Palace, which we've never been to either.  It's supposed to be one of the best character dining experiences at Magic Kingdom so I'm sure we won't be disappointed.

Since we're staying a bit longer this year, I'm thinking of new ways I can pack all of our stuff and make for a more comfy stay while at the resort.  One of the things I am doing is taking an over-the-door shoe organizer to hang over our bathroom door.  I'll use it to store our toiletries and other items so I can keep the bathroom area as neat and clutter-free as possible.  If any of you have any other clever tips for traveling and being away from home for eight days, please fill me in!

We always timed it so that we rented a car on the first day to get us to the resort but stop at the grocery store nearby and stock up on food – water bottles big time – we also went outside the resort that evening for pizza because they have a fabulous pizza place nearby – I think it was Little Caesars but it is so good – we then rented the car the day before we were to leave and would head to the beach that day. I bought the boys those large soda cups in the resort – they would fill them on our way back each time because you are always super thirsty and these are a good deal in the long run
    I’m so jealous – I love WDW
I’m looking forward to the boys being old enough to meet us and we all go do our own thing some times as there are stores and shows I want to see.
    Have fun!

oh, Kathy I know all about the resort cups! We get those on our first day at the resort! I don’t think we’ll be renting a car while we’re there, as we love all the resort has to offer and plan on doing some outings visiting other resort properties. We also did the dining plan so our food costs are covered, but i am sure one day we’ll make it off the resorts! Maybe when the kids are out of carseats!
We plan on visiting a new place – Pizza Planet – at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, themed after Toy Story, so that should be fun! Thanks for visiting my blog! 🙂

That shoe organizer is a great idea! I try to keep our stuff put away around the sink so their cleaning sprays don’t get onto our hygiene stuff, but on the door is a great way to keep wayward sprays away! (Confession of Karen’s: I used to work at a hotel as a housekeeper when I was in HS so I know some of the yuckies.)

Backpacks are great for carrying snacks, maps, and other essentials while walking around the parks. Better than a purse because dad can wear it and share the toting of gear. I’m sure snacks will be a big necessity for 2 growing boys and one prego mommy! Enjoy your trip!
