Today we enjoyed most of our day at Epcot, Nathan's favorite theme park at Disney. It's a common misconception that it's not much of a fun place for kids, but there is actually a lot for little kids to do there. After heading out from our hotel and having lunch we got on one of our favorite attractions – The Seas with Nemo and Friends. You are taken on this moving ride while sitting in a clam-like car and getting to experience the singing and fun of Finding Nemo friends. Afterwards, the kids enjoyed the giant aquarium and activities, and of course, some great photo opps.
Then we decided to explore the World Showcase and get a closer look at all the different countries represented. The kids had fun walking and seeing all the sites. Morocco:
China:
France:
Then we went to the Innoventions center at Epcot where Nathan and Will got to partake in a fun fire drill to learn about fire safety. This was the highlight of our whole trip for Nathan. He kept asking over and over if he could just go back to Epcot and do the fire drill thing again! Then he and David were going to ride Test Track since they'd gotten a FastPass for it earlier, but when they went to get on the ride, it was temporarily closed. Bummer. But, while Will and I were waiting for them we visited the butterfly garden on display and snapped this:
Will just kept trying to catch all of the butterflies and chase after them. It was such a beautiful sight to see them all flying around in the gardens. I would love to go back to Epcot every year around this time just to see them! We decided to head back to Magic Kingdom and ride some of our favorites there. We rode the spinning teacups and had a blast then we were somehow able to convince Nathan that the Haunted Mansion wouldn't be too scary. We all got in line to do the ride and it turned out to be just a tad frightening but fun in the end. By the ride's end the kids were chuckling so hard at all of the "monsters" popping out of coffins, walls, etc.
Then it was time to get another dose of our FAVORITE ride ever!
David was trying to beat his previous high score which was in the 300,000 range and Will, Nathan, and I were just going for the fun. It was a long day and we were at the park until about 10 p.m. so then it was time to head back for some rest. Tomorrow: Will turns two!
