“Chirp…..chirp.”

That’s all I’ve been hearing since last night. The guest bedroom smoke detector is low on battery and that dang thing has been chirping about once per minute for almost twenty four hours and it’s driving me BATTY!!

Of course my wonderful husband thinks he’ll be able to just hop up on a stepstool when he gets home from work tonight and simply change out the battery, but I know better. I’ve already told him we need at LEAST a six-foot ladder to get to the darn thing because the ceilings in that room are so high. He of course thinks I am over-estimating it but like I said, I know better. Trust me. The only way that thing is getting fixed tonight is with him standing on the tallest stepstool we have and me getting on his shoulders. And that still may not even be high enough.

So, on with the chirping, I guess. It’ll have to wait till he can bring our ladder back from work. Oh, yeah, he’s not able to bring the ladder back today because he drove his little toy car today. That crazy guy of mine, I tell ya. Geesh!
