Last week I discovered that I'd been stuffing W's 8.5 size foot into a size 7 shoe. As such, I made a mental note to go shopping for him. Then, as luck would have it, a Stride Rite 15% off coupon magically appeared in my mailbox. Score! Or, so I thought. Today as I was…
My dad drove in from Austin late this afternoon for a quick visit with the kids. It's about an eleven hour drive and not a pretty one, but my dad was set on coming so I figured, who am I to argue? The drive was I am sure tiring and he'll have to turn around and drive…
I have enjoyed getting to spend some real quality time with W as N is in school each day now. I can tell that he kind of looks forward to certain treats each day as well. Here's a few extra special treats W has gotten a taste of while his big brother is in school:…
Our reading habits totally go in cycles around here, as I am sure it does for most families. Right now the kids have really been digging these books: Do Stars Have Points? – N recently checked this out from his school library and D has been wonderfully reading it to him. It's over 40…
For dinner tonight we had homemade cheeseburgers, fries, and corn-on-the-cob. I knew that W loved corn, but I didn't realize he'd end up eating nearly all of the corn I bought! The photo below is NOT doctored either….he really did eat from all of the corn on his plate! Dinner was a success – N…
N & W have been wearing their cowboy boots EVERYWHERE lately. And when I say everywhere, I mean everywhere! N has worn his out virtually every time we go out for dinner or just to make a Target run. He's also resorted to using boots [bow-tas as W says it] for other things around the…
Lemme just lay it all out there and say that my kids are driving me CUH-RAY-ZEE with the things they want to "play" these days! Here's what real life is like with two rambunctious boys: Playing fight – this consists of the boys running at each other like two cavemen and knocking each other to…
I am talking about W’s latest little phrase, “Fine, boy!” It’s one of those you have to really hear to appreciate though. He says so irritatingly cute, like how you would say “whatever” to someone. So, I spend most of my days walking around the house mimicking him and his “fiyyeee, boyee” phraseology.
Sometimes it's just too steamy to get outside, but we somehow still find time to sit and enjoy the outdoors from inside.
Here she is in all her glory. Clementine is a happy and energetic little fish who is no doubt enjoying the her bubbly and colorful surroundings. The kids are already warming up to her as they love to watch her swim about and point out that she waves to them with her rapid little fin…
