I took the kids to the local library this afternoon for this weekend's edition of Get Buggy. They had a fun time buzzing around the books, blocks and doing the craft-of-the-day, which happened to be a paper bag bug. The boys started out by decorating a brown paper lunch sack with markers all around the body and then drawing on a great face. Then, they stuffed by taking handfulls of shredded paper and dumping it inside the bag. Then, we finished them off by twisting the end of the bag and securing it with masking tape. A set of pipe cleaners inserted at the top of the bag near the face finished off their bug-tastic creations!
N fashioned his bug after a bumblebee, complete with yellow and black patterned stripes. Will's bug was somewhat of a mish-mosh of creativity, not really resembling much of any particular kind of bug, but still cute nonetheless.
