Birthday Recap.

So I turned 35 yesterday and so far it's been great.  I am officially in my mid-thirties and I've also realized that I have been with my husband, David, for OVER HALF OF MY LIFE!  Very cool but very weird at the same time!  Man, where does the time go??!

Anyhoo, yesterday morning while lying in bed with baby Jacob, I was greeted by Nathan & Will who came bursting into the room with their gift wrapped in Care Bears wrapping paper.  I immediately sat up in bed and hugged and kissed them and then decided to follow them back downstairs.  Once I got down there I opened up their greeting cards and then finally the gift.

I am convinced this book was actually a gift for them disguised as a gift for me.  But it was still very sweet and we are all quite excited at the prospect of making many of the fun cupcake designs.  First up are the bowling pin & ball cupcakes.  Yes, you'll have to check back to see these! They are SO fun!  You better believe that Will is most excited about these!

Later on in the day David treated me to Panera for lunch along with Will & Jacob tagging along.  Funny how going out with just Will and NOT Nathan, makes for a much more calm Will.  I sure did miss Nathan at lunch though since I know how much he loves Panera's grilled cheese.

When we arrived home, David noticed we had a delivery on our porch and went out to get it.  He came back inside with these beauties from my Dad:

I am especially loving the ruby red vase that came with the flowers! So perfect for Valentine's Day, plus they are giving me some ideas on accessorizing in the living room and using this color as an accent color.

For dinner, we headed out to Houlihan's where I feasted on the filet mignon.  And, the best part is that it was on the restaurant!  They've got the hottest birthday deal in town!  When you sign up for their birthday club, you get a coupon for a free entree on your birthday.  The free entree can be anything on the menu!

While we were at dinner, my wonderfully talented friend and social media/PR client, Carey of Sprinkled with Sugar surprised ME with her "Sprinkle of the Day"!  Check out the tasty, beautiful and oh-so-decadent truffles that she brought me:

Mmmmm…they were so beautiful and so delicious!  What a treat they were!  If you are local in Kansas City, I HIGHLY recommend you order "Sprinkles" for your friend, family member, spouse, etc. someday soon!  Carey does them weekly and they're so affordable and worth every penny at just $15!  You can find out about ordering them here.

And as if that weren't enough, when we got home David had this wonderful birthday cake and candles ready to go. It was a Godiva cheesecake from Cheescake Factory!

The kids were SO excited for cake!  And they loved the truffles too!  So much celebrating just literally was the icing on my cake! The kiddos were so sweet all day wishing me happy birthday and offering lots of kisses, hugs, and snuggles. It was such a great birthday!
