Fighting #AllergyFace
You may not be able to tell from the photo here but right now where I live ragweed is at insanely high levels.  Hubs is actually suffering more than I am and has been congested and miserable for about 10 days now.  At the time this photo was taken, I was just feeling a few of the effects of seasonal allergies.  Mostly my symptoms have been itchy throat and puffiness.  Ugh. Yes, puffiness.  As if I wasn't already puffy enough from the lack of sleep thanks to my sweet baby.  One thing that really gets under my skin is when I wake up not only sleep deprived, but puffy.  It's enough to really make me just want to stay indoors and wear sunglasses all day long.  Have you ever felt like this?  If so, you are definitely in the majority.  I recently discovered that in a recent survey from the makers of ZYRTEC®, it was discovered that nearly half of women who suffer from Allergy Face™ admit to having missed out on a date night or other event in their lives because of allergy symptoms cramping their beauty routine.  That's just unnaceptable, people!

Thankfully, the makers of ZYRTEC® have partnered with beauty and fashion expert, Carmen Ordoñez from VivaFashionBlog.com, to help women combat “ALLERGY FACE™” – more commonly knowns as the beauty challenges like a puffy face, watery eyes and a red nose that are associated with typical allergy symptoms.  In her three-part video series on YouTube, Carmen shares her expert advice on helping women look their best even when suffering from allergies. In part two of the series, she shares tips on how to deal with the most common beauty challenges we face when it comes to puffiness.

  • Gently rub ice cubes all over your face, followed by a gentle pat dry, BEFORE applying your regular makeup if your face feels puffy all over.
  • If watery eyes are your beauty challenge, try substituting your normal black mascara for a blue or navy colored one.  This blues will make the whites of your eyes appear brighter.
  • Remember that less is more.  Don't overdo the beauty routine.  Keep it simple.

One thing that I like to do when I feel puffy all over is to take a washcloth and wet it with cold water then place over my face for about 3 – 5 minutes.  I find that it helps calm my face and reduce the appearance of puffiness that comes with Allergy Face™.

I hope you'll stick around so I can share parts three of Carmen's video series with you when it is released.  In the meantime, be sure and check out the ZYRTEC® Facebook page to learn more about fighting ALLERGY FACE™.  I'd also love to have your comments and feedback if you have a great tip on fighting ALLERGY FACE™.
