Oh, how I love the inventor of the chicken nugget. ¡Mi amor! We always have chicken nuggets in our house because they make for perfect quick, easy meals for the kids and are great after-school (or anytime) snacks. And during the summer season, we all need plenty of those kinds of ideas!
We recently had the opportunity to try the new Tyson Panko Chicken Nuggets available at Sam's Club. My kids were excited to try them, and I was excited to find they come in a nice 5 pound bag which means fewer trips out to the store with all my minions in tow!
During the summertime especially, I'm all for making fun snacks, lunches, and dinners at home. My kids absolutely love when I incorporate kabobs / skewers into meals so I decided to come up with a way that I could serve them with the new Tyson Panko Chicken Nuggets. The result was something the kids loved and it made their mealtime more fun and interesting.
Here's a tip (no pun intended) for using skewers with little kids: I always slide on my food items onto the stick first, then make sure I snip the tips of the skewer to make it safer for little ones to handle.
After locating my skewer sticks, I got all of my ingredients together: Tyson Panko Chicken Nuggets, cubed apples, and cubed cheese. These are some of my favorite kid-friendly snacks and meal ingredients. Plus, my kids all love nuggets, cheese, and fruit!
Once I had everything on the stick, I cut the tip of it, like I mentioned above. The food still slides off easily, only now it's safer for my boys since I know they will soon turn the skewers into swords!
In our house, dipping sauces are a BIG deal! We recently came up with our own concoction of two of our favorite condiments – ranch dressing and salsa. These Tyson Panko Chicken Nuggets are the perfect companion to 3 tablespoons of your favorite salsa and 1 tablespoon of ranch dressing.
What's great about this east, kid-friendly meal or snack is that it so versatile. If I would have had grapes on hand, I would have added those for even more color and nutrition. You can pretty much stick anything on a skewer for kids and they will be excited about eating it!
