Today has been a geek day for me. Yesterday, after over a year of being able to use “paulsnetwork” for my laptop wireless internet connection, all of a sudden, it went kaput. paulsnetwork was an anonymous wireless network i’d been using to connect to the internet using my laptop since i got the darn thing. We’ve never actually found out who “Paul” is or where the network was based from. I imagine it belonged to a neighbor of ours who maybe shut it down recently or moved. Needless to say, i was bummed i could no longer use my laptop to get online while on the main level of the house. Instead, i had to go to the dungeons of the basement into our “computer nook” where i have my big desktop and david has his all hooked up to our Roadrunner High Speed internet. Yeah, that wasn’t working for me too well. I missed using my laptop and being on my computer every 3 1/2 minutes!

So, today i went out to Circuit City and bought a wireless network router and brought it home for david to connect for me! He obliged, as he could see what insanity i’ve been going through the past 24 hours NOT being able to be on my “upstairs” computer. So, we worked for about 45 minutes hooking it up, etc. and i am proud to say all is well. The connection is extremely fast, too, which is always a plus!

Then, i got busy working on copying a workout VHS tape onto DVD for Erin so she can get her pregnant booty moving (although i think she looks great!) It took my electronic-guru self no time to figure it out. I popped that sucker out from recording when it was all done and felt great! I’ve even considered starting a small business copying things from VHS to DVD and vice versa for people….i could charge a nominal fee for supplies, etc…how cool would that be? 🙂 Extra cash is always good!

I then went to David’s mom’s house to drop n8 off for the afternoon where i also took Microsoft Excel over to install for my MIL on her computer. She then informed me that she needs Adobe so i’ll be bringing that by this evening and doing a free install for her again!

Lastly, i’ve been burning a copy of my Adobe CD for someone that also needs it so that she can install it on her computer as well.

I’m exhausted….geek squad duty is almost as tough as mom duty!
