how blessed my family is for the simple fact that we are all, to the best of our knowledge, in good health. I found out today that a friend of mine’s son was diagnosed with Leukemia this past week. I don’t know all of the details just yet but will be finding out from a good friend of hers this weekend.

I can’t imagine how as a mom, she must feel to have this going on right now and I just pray that their family gets through this and comes out healthier and happier than ever. Finding this out today really hit home and my heart literally ached about it since my mother had a sister lose her life to Leukemia when she was only six. The hope for my friend’s family is so much greater though since medicine has advanced so much since then and I am optimistic that the little boy will get through this.

This just reminds me that my life, nor that of my kids for that matter, is NOT in my hands. For someone who is used to being in control of things, that is a hard pill to swallow but my faith is strong and I give thanks and take great comfort in that faith as well.
