My first interview.

So this afternoon I did my first interview about KC Metro Moms with the Editor of a local publication. I was excited and nervous, but hey, I’m never at a loss for words.

After figuring out what exactly she was calling about, I immediately made a beeline for the basement and shut the door behind me. I didn’t want the distraction of kiddos and playdoh everywhere to interfere with my interview. The Editor proceeded to tell me how she’d found the website (although at the moment, I can’t exactly remember how/where she learned about it!) and that she was very impressed and thought it was such a great idea for moms. She asked me questions about how the idea for the site first came, how I developed and came up with it, how I am getting the word out about it, what the membership is like and what I envision for the website’s future. I am sure I gave her more than enough for a write-up. I just kept feeling like I was talking on and on and on! But, perhaps I was simply trying to cover up the crying I could hear coming from Will who was at the basement stairs trying to open the door.

Jeez, why does it have to be so difficult just to be on a phone call when kids are around?!

Regardless, the interview went great and the Editor said she’d really try and get something out in their next issue about the site and that she would keep me posted, so I’m sure you’ll be hearing about it if I do get a write-up.
