Breakfast AND bed.

This morning was so wonderful, despite the rain. In fact, it’s the rain that really made it so great. For one, Nathan’s last soccer game was rained out this morning. He was supposed to play at 10:05 a.m. then they were going to have an awards ceremony and celebration afterwards. Well, when I woke up at 8 a.m. to find it STILL spewing rain from the sky, I ever-so-slightly slid out of bed and called the automated sports line to confirm the game would be cancelled. Yee-haw! It’s been postponed to next weekend, same time, same field.

So, I tiptoed back upstairs, slid back into bed and slept. Shortly thereafter Nathan and Will both woke up. They came into bed for a while and hung out then they went and played as they usually do either in Nathan’s room or downstairs. I got to sleep in till about 9:30 and was the last one out of bed – not usually a regular occurrence for me. Anyway, that’s not even the best part. As David came out of the shower and I was brushing my teeth, he got dressed then said he was headed downstairs to make breakfast. I had already told Nathan that we could make pancakes so I was pleasantly surprised when David took the reigns on that one.

Anyway, a fabulous feast it was. David made scrambled eggs with cheese, fluffy pancakes, yummy bacon and we washed it down with some tasty tangerine o.j. After the hearty breakfast I cleared the dishes and cleaned up the kitchen a bit and proceeded with a LAAAAAZY day. I showered then came back downstairs and we just hung out watching some TV. Later after lunch we put the kiddos down for a nap and I watched some more TV while David was messing with the computer. I happened to doze off for a while on the couch and then the boys woke up from their naps. We had indoor grilled burgers, fries, and ranch style beans for dinner (Nathan actually took TWO bites of meat, but of course ate mostly peanut butter and jelly). Then Nathan and I headed to DQ to grab some dessert for everyone. Their strawberry waffle bowls are DEEE-LISH!

All in all, a lazy, but great day. Wish every Saturday could be this low-key.
