Five Things: TV Bliss

I’m loving our TV more and more and here’s just a few reasons why:

  • Reading Rainbow, one of D and I’s favorite kids’ shows of all time, is back on PBS.  The kids are enjoying it and we’ve set the DVR to record yet another program.
  • Wipeout is not only thoroughly enjoyed by all of the males in this house, but is also being reinacted by N & W at random times and on random pieces of furniture.  If you read a blog post of mine about a trip to the emergency room anytime soon, you’ll know why.
  • I’m excited about another  TV appearance that will air sometime in late August on another local station.  This past week I was officially “booked” for that, so watch for details, and as always, I am sure I’ll post the video!
  • Even with all of my shortcomings, I feel like a Super-Wife after watching recent episodes of Jon & Kate.  D and I enjoy watching the shows every week and what I’ve realized is that, dang, some wives are just really rude and condescending to their hubs.  I certianly hope I never get to that point!  (Honey, but if you’re reading this and I already am at that point, please point it out to me nicely.)
  • I love how the TV has evolved and actually does promote family time to some degree.  Our Wii Fit is such a great example of this.  The kids love it and so do D and I.  We’re able to watch each other hold our balance, run, and do other fun fitness challenges, all thanks to our TV.

You know what is awesome is listening to a bunch of innocent third graders sing that song every week. When I did my student teaching the teacher had them watch it every Friday after lunch. They loved it and I loved listening to them sing the theme song. So sweet.

My husband won’t watch Jon and Kate with me much anymore, he thinks the only redeeming thing (person) on that show is little Aaden. She is pretty horrible, and I just wonder how much they get as freebies and what Jon gets paid to support all of them and have all that they do (not to mention the fertility treatments to have the kids).
