I am sitting (sans kids) at the public library to pass the time before my next meeting and I am so irritated at how loud the library is!  Has it been this way for a while or have I just had too many loud kids with me befeore to notice?  Even the library staff are extremely wordy and loud!

Remember back in the day when the librarian was this fifty-something year-old grandmotherly-type of woman with her black-rimmed glasses sporting a tightly pinned back bun?  She would use the fewest amount of words possible to engage in conversation with you, as she mostly stuck to her librarian duties of sorting and re-shelving.  Now it seems these librarians are too involved in meaningless gossip and conversation about how annoying a caller was on the phone simply because she didn't understand that the library could not help her with her magazine donation.  I mean, seriously, does it really warrant eye-rolling and bad-mouthing of a public resident who is actually paying your librarian wage?

I literally cannot believe how loud it is in here! I wish I could plug in audio on this post and have you all here.  These two librarians sit to the right of me here as I type this gossiping and complaining about who knows what.  It's bad enough that as they pass the book under the bar code scanner it dings on queue.  I think we can do without the loud convos.  And, if you must have a convo, at least make it about something worthwhile and not something that we patrons should have to listen to!
