Let’s play!

Lemme just lay it all out there and say that my kids are driving me CUH-RAY-ZEE with the things they want to "play" these days!  Here's what real life is like with two rambunctious boys:

  • Playing fight – this consists of the boys running at each other like two cavemen and knocking each other to the floor.  Niiiice.
  • Wipeout – inspired by the TV show and entails running, jumping, and hitting the living room furniture head on – complete with sound effects.  The kids also have taken to using my decorative couch pillows as the "big red balls" [again, from the show] where they jump from pillow to pillow on the floor, trying not to fall into the goo.  Whatever the heck that is.
  • Guns, guns, guns.  'Nuff said.
  • American Gladiators – this one is actually kind of funny and isn't all that bad actually.  Either D or I counts down "3-2-1- GOOOOO!"  The kids reinact the joust stunt or just random running into each other and knocking each other down to the ground.

What kinds of games or rambunctious play by your kids drives you up the wall?  Or, am I just overrreacting?

D and C love to run around the house roaring at each other. They do laps around the first floor until D gets going too fast and knocks C down. Crying ensues. Then they start again. I can’t imagine if C were a boy…

I can’t stand shooting toys, so James has very few things that fire anything, but I hate it when he finds a way to make a chair or a book or a car into a gun. Crazy, I know.
