This past Memorial Day weekend was spent, for the third year in a row, serving at what has become THE biggest, brightest, and best family music fest IN. THE. COUNTRY.  Seriously.  No joke.

And, I am priviledged and honored to be part of the planning and production of the shindig, having served on the board for three years now.  It is such a fantastic group of people to be associated with. And I hope it never ends!

My kids have been waiting and talking about Jiggle Jam since last year's event and they were thrilled that it had FINALLY come!

And, what's a festival without face painting?  It was Iron Man and Two-Faced this year — which really got some stares!

All of our favorite local kids acts like Mr. Stinky Feet, Funky Mama, Dinosaur O'Dell & the T-Rex All-Stars, and The La La's were there and made the weekend super fun!  And then there were some of our favorites who I was just giddy that we were able to meet and hang out with!

Sugar Free Allstars and their latest CD have been in our car for weeks now and we all can't get enough!  They were even better in person!

And then there was Secret Agent 23 Skidoo – who we were all very excited to hear in-person.  We instantly became fans when we saw and heard them online but this past weekend just sealed the deal! We picked up their CD at the festival and haven't stopped listening to it yet! Seriously, it's that good!  I love that I can listen to hip-hop (23 Skidoo calls his "kid-hop") WITH my kids and actually enjoy it!  The band was super, talented, super cool, and super NICE!  Such great folks to have met and hung out with!

The kids and I were also jazzed about Choo Choo Soul performing and they certainly did not disappoint!

And, what would a festival at Kansas City's Crown Center be without a run through the fountains?

Whether you're a KC local or not, I HIGHLY recommend you mark your calendars now for next Memorial Day weekend 2011 and join us for Jiggle Jam! It is hands-down the best way to spend Memorial Day weekend!
