Dear Jakey,

Today you are my Perfect 10.  Ten months old and perfect, you are.  Such a happy, calm, but fiesty little boy rolled up into a soft and squishy outer skin.  Heaven.  I have a few notes from things this past month that are worth noting:

You're totally into Legos.  Mostly, you're into crawling over to the gigantic tub that has the Legos in it (that your brothers are playing with, of course), and running your hands through all the Legos so they make that loud noise!  You just sit there and do that time after time and think it's the funniest thing!

Speaking of older brothers, they can both effectively carry you now from room to room or from the stairs when you seem to get to close.  They come up behind you and slide their arms underneath yours and lift straight up.  Your legs dangle and kick as they semi-sprint with you around the house and all you can do is laugh and laugh.  You absolutely LOVE it!

You had your second haircut this past month. Mommy wasn't too thrilled with the sideburns or that Daddy didn't bother to tell me he did it while I was at a meeting at church!  I actually discovered you had the trim the next morning when you woke up and I realized your hair was cut! Good thing for you, you're pretty darn cute and your hair will grow back in places Daddy butchered you.

You have learned how to effectively slurp spaghetti.  A LOT of it!

Some new foods you're digging this month include whole milk, pita bread, steak and baked potatoes, watermelon, pineapple and mango flavored frozen yogurt from the new place that opened up by our house. 

The clucking noise you make with your mouth has become louder and stronger! You usually do this when you are bored or crawling around looking for something to get into!

You are crawling around everywhere these days!  We've had to watch to make sure you're not getting too close to the basement steps.  And, you're standing up against a lot of furniture and other objects you can get to. Exhausting trying to keep up!

My Tupperware cabinet has become a favorite hangout of yours recently since Grammy introduced you to it.  It's a nice little activity for you to get into while I am in the kitchen prepping lunch or dinner.  The salad bowls and basket of random lids are a bit hit with you.

You are such a lounger like your brothers! Whether in your stroller or high chair, you are always looking for a place to put your feet up!

You don't care much for sippy cups.  Since you were about 6 months, though, you've been able to drink from a straw, which I am cool with since I love straws too!

You've started to respond to the words "bye-bye" and open and close your hands quite well!

You've mastered "Pai-Pai-So" (Chinese clapping game) so well and not only clap when you see us clapping but even when you hear it on TV and such! You are quite nosey, by the way.

Sleeping on your tummy has become a favorite of yours.  In fact, I've checked in on you many nights and found you all snuggled up on top of your Poley (Polar Bear) in your crib.  You seem to sleep much better that way.  So do I!

Stacking cups (mostly me doing the stacking) and then knocking them over (mostly YOU) is one of your all-time faves to do on the living room floor!

I hope you realize how very much you are loved!  I try everyday to be the best Mommy I can for you and you are such an easy baby to parent…you make motherhood easy!  You're calm, easy-going, and just so good!  Your Daddy tells me that when I am not around you are not fussy or whiney at all!  It's good to know that you are fine when I am at a meeting or need to get a haircut.  But, I think you know that you have got me eating out of the palm of your hand so when I am around, you make it appear as though you can't bear to be without me.  It's ok though.  Because the truth is, I can't bear to be without you either!
